Cornerstone Monthly | Mar 2026 Edition

Business Update

March was focused on disciplined underwriting and intentional relationship-building. We reviewed several new opportunities this month, and passed on all of them. Maintaining strict criteria and protecting investor capital matters more than deal volume.

On the operations side, we are coordinating a property management transition on one of our existing assets. These transitions take time and attention, but the end goal is tighter operations and stronger long-term performance for our investors.

I also attended a couple of investor networking events and continued building relationships with other experienced operators. Finding the right operating partners is a deliberate process - when I bring a deal to my investors, they need to be able to trust not just me, but the entire team behind it.

On a personal note, we closed on the sale of one of our single-family rentals this month. As we trim down our single-family holdings, it reinforces our attitude towards multifamily - the scale, the cash flow, and the investor-friendly structure are simply hard to replicate with other real estate strategies.

Market Update

The conflict in the Middle East continues to send ripple effects through global markets. What began as a geopolitical event has evolved into a significant energy supply shock, with disruptions to oil and commodity flows putting upward pressure on inflation and creating uncertainty across financial markets.

Asia and Europe are most exposed, though U.S. investors are not immune. The situation is a good reminder that macro conditions can shift quickly - and that having a portion of your portfolio in stable, cash-flowing hard assets can provide a meaningful buffer when equity markets get choppy. Conrad’s Picks: Mindset & Mastery

Great resources can spark great ideas. Here’s one to add to your toolkit:

  • "The Go-Giver" by Bob Burg and John David Mann is a business parable that challenges the conventional hustle mentality, arguing that the most successful people are those who make giving value their primary focus rather than chasing results. The story follows an ambitious young professional who discovers that genuine generosity - in business and in life - is not just a nice idea, but a practical strategy for lasting success.

“Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.”

- from “The Go-Giver”
