Business Update

Much of my time this month was spent preparing one of our single-family properties in Louisville for sale. While technically a single-family home, it functioned as two separate units: one as a traditional long-term rental, and the other as an Airbnb that I self-managed. This meant traveling back to meet with my property management team, perform make-ready repairs, and hand over the keys to my realtor.

I’m sharing this because it reflects a broader shift in our family’s investment approach. Single-family and small residential properties were a valuable starting point, but they tend to be management-intensive (even with hiring a property management company) and difficult to scale efficiently. As a result, we're intentionally thinning out our single-family portfolio and concentrating our time, energy, and capital on multifamily and commercial investments where economies of scale, professional operating teams, and stronger risk-adjusted returns are more accessible.

This shift allows us to be more focused, more strategic, and better aligned with our long-term goal of building durable, passive income streams without the ongoing demands of being a traditional landlord or Airbnb host.

Market Update

The Federal Reserve delivered a modest rate cut late in 2025, bringing the federal funds target range lower and setting the stage for potential further easing in early 2026. Forecasters are watching closely, as internal Fed discussions show a mix of views on inflation versus labor market strength, which could influence the timing of future cuts. Read more.
